Our three Sutton Hill Health Walks are all located within easy reach around Blists Hill Pitmound and Madeley Park. A convenient access point is via the subway located between Southgate and Summerhill or from Blists Hill Museum car park. There are other access points close by, see map on the right. This pit mound is typical of many in Telford that have, over the years, returned to nature as a rich variety of trees and plants have developed. What makes this mound even more attractive is the old section of the Shropshire Union canal on its east side and the open space of Madeley Park just next door. There are a variety of birds here – Jays, Woodpeckers and Finches can be seen. The woodland and canal bring a feeling of peace and quiet and offer a chance to escape and relax for a while.
