Our three Woodside and Madeley Health walks are all located within easy reach on and around the south end of Rough Park. These walks are perhaps best accessed from Newcomen Way (across Woodside Avenue from Warrensway and Weybridge), but can be accessed via other paths into the park – see map on the right. Rough Park, an area once used for coal and clay extraction, was reclaimed and landscaped and the scars of the past have now healed. The Park now features a healthy population of trees, including a number of Poplar species, and has great views across to Dawley and Lightmoor in the North-West and of the fringes of the Coalbrookdale woodlands – Dale Coppice and Oilhouse Coppice.Watch for Buzzards and even Ravens soaring overhead and listen out for Skylarks singing in the early summer months.
